Early Life

Born to a Sunseeker Mother and a Moonkeeper Father in 1553, Rosaline was only six years old when she, her mother and father, and her older sister, fled from Garlean forces. During their escape, Rosaline became separated from them, and wound up washed ashore in Limsa. By chance, a passing Hyur couple, the Azurites, found Rosaline and took her in - loving her as their own and raising her in their home in Gridania.A curious and outgoing child, Rosaline explored every tree, field, and river of the Twelveswood that she could manage. Once she was old enough, she applied to the Archer's Guild at the encouragement of her parents as a way to channel her boundless energy. Though she struggled to pick up the skill at first, working twice as hard as her peers, she put in the time and effort to become a skilled archer, eventually joining the ranks of the Gods' Quiver at 16. Just a few shorts years later, Rosaline would aid on the sidelines in the Battle of Carteneau, wherein she would gain the power of the Echo - and her life would forever change.Though she remembers very little from her previous life, with only the vaguest recollections of the family she once had before her new life in Gridania, she has remained vehemently certain that she was "saved by a mermaid", a tale which most passed off as the delusions of a traumatized child. When she was older, she discovered that the mermaid statue in Aleport, where she had been found as a child, was carved in the likeness of Llymlaen. It was then she would begin to wonder if it could be possible that it was Llymlaen herself whom plucked her from the seas that night. It wouldn't be till much later that she'd learn the truth about her savior from that fateful day.

Current Day

Now 27, with many and more adventures, hardships, and victories to add to her life story, Rosaline is a upbeat Miqo'te who is not afraid to speak her mind or stick up for those in need. From her childhood in Gridania to her time with the Scions, she values the importance of found family and knows the strength that these bonds are capable of building. Everyone whom she's met in her time across Eorzea has left a mark on her on one way or another - and she can only hope to help them as best she can in return.When not summoned to save one or more realms from disaster, she enjoys visiting Feo Ul in Il Mheg, eating the best food that Etheirys has to offer, going for late night walks, and performing in the Masked Carnivale alongside her partner, Martyn.

Rosaline and Elidibus (A Realm Reborn through Shadowbringers)

Though attributing it to her desire to defeat the Ascians and stop their plans, Rosaline initially feels inexplicably drawn to Elidibus. However, she gets more than she bargained for, when enemies quickly turns to enemies-with-benefits before she knows it, forcing her to hide their illicit relationship from those around her. Theirs would be a difficult relationship for years, fraught with strife and conflict given their opposing goals, they would often drift in and out of each other’s lives without word. That is, until that fateful day on the First, when atop the Crystal Tower, the two faced their biggest, and final, clash.It wouldn't be until much later, once her history as Azem came to light, that she would understand the pull that she felt towards someone that she so clearly should have stayed away from was one that persisted through millenia and lifetimes. Despite everything, her heart often aches when she thinks back on him. Although her time spent in Pandaemonium aiding Themis and Erichthonios helps to heal some wounds and provide closure, the pain of this experience will be something she carries forever.

Rosaline and Martyn (Stormblood unto current day)

After being roped into Martyn's shenanigans one ordinary day in Limsa, Rosaline takes to training in the ways of blue magic under his tutelage as a means to ensure he doesn't end up in the gaols at the hands of the Yellowjackets. Slowly but surely disdain grows to fondness as she develops feelings for the mage. And after watching Martyn nearly kill himself in his match against Siegfried, the feelings she tried to deny become irrefutable. Little does she know that those feelings are not one-sided, as Martyn too had been quietly harboring feelings for her. Unfortunately for the two of them, they both - for their own unique reasons - had convinced themselves that the other could not or would not return those feelings.The two would pine for each other for some time as they continued their relationship as teacher and apprentice. It wouldn't be until their victory against Gogo, emotions high in the wake of their triumph, do they finally confess their feelings to one another.All the while Martyn remained blissfully unaware of Rosaline's true nature as the Warrior of Light until she saves the entire star from utter calamity. Though the revelation catches him by surprise, he works to come to terms with the truth of Rosaline’s life.

In her past life, Rosaline was once Rhodos (they/them/she) - a holder of the Seat of Azem within the Convocation of Fourteen.Specializing in healing magicks, Rhodos’ sweet and composed demeanor belied a trickster nature, often aiming to get a rise out of their fellow convocation members and being a general nuisance to all those around them - especially fond of irritating Emet. Despite this behavior, they cared deeply for the people of Etheirys.When not upholding their duties - or shirking them outright - Rhodos spent much time with Themis, as the two were deeply in love.
